AI Usage & Acceptable Use Policy

This Policy governs use of all AI Services, including Vision AI, Voice AI, AI Mentor, adaptive learning tools, automated assessments, and future AI-powered features. SchoolExl uses artificial intelligence to assist learning, not replace it, to explain concepts, simplify difficult topics, personalize learning, encourage curiosity, and support teachers and parents, complementing rather than replacing independent thinking, classroom instruction, or teacher guidance.

SchoolExl's AI analyzes educational inputs such as textbook pages, handwritten or typed questions, images, voice inputs, learning history, and assessment performance, and generates explanations, examples, practice questions, summaries, or recommendations. These outputs are produced automatically by machine learning models and should be understood as educational support tools, not authoritative answers.

AI-generated content may occasionally contain factual inaccuracies, provide incomplete explanations, misunderstand ambiguous questions, rely on outdated information, or produce incorrect calculations. Users should independently verify important academic information before relying on AI-generated outputs.

Users may use SchoolExl AI only for lawful educational purposes: learning new concepts, solving academic doubts, practicing exam questions, improving understanding, and revising subjects. Users shall not use SchoolExl AI to cheat in examinations; impersonate another person; create harmful or illegal content; upload malicious software; bypass security controls; reverse engineer AI models; scrape AI responses at scale; build competing AI products; conduct unauthorized commercial activity; generate spam; or infringe intellectual property or applicable law. SchoolExl may suspend Accounts engaging in prohibited activity.

Students should use AI to understand concepts, improve problem-solving, and practice independently, not to present AI-generated work as entirely their own where doing so violates school rules, examination policies, or academic integrity requirements.

Users are responsible for reviewing AI-generated responses, exercising independent judgment, protecting Account credentials, using AI ethically, complying with school policies, and supervising children's use where applicable. Parents are encouraged to monitor their children's interaction with AI-powered tools.

SchoolExl may analyze anonymized or aggregated AI interactions to improve explanations, reduce errors, enhance educational models, and identify common learning challenges; where personal information is processed, Part B, Privacy Policy governs. Users may voluntarily upload textbook images, homework, handwritten notes, assignments, voice recordings, and photographs of questions, and represent that they hold the necessary rights to do so; Users should avoid uploading confidential or unrelated personal information unless necessary for educational purposes.

SchoolExl does not guarantee uninterrupted AI availability. Functionality may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, model upgrades, internet disruptions, system failures, cloud outages, or security incidents; SchoolExl will use commercially reasonable efforts to restore service promptly.

All AI systems, algorithms, prompts, datasets, software, models, interfaces, and educational content developed or licensed by SchoolExl remain its exclusive intellectual property or that of its licensors. Users receive only a limited licence to access AI Services for personal educational use, and may not copy, reproduce, distribute, train competing AI systems using SchoolExl outputs, extract datasets, decompile software, or reverse engineer models. SchoolExl AI provides educational assistance only; it is not a substitute for teachers and does not constitute legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice. SchoolExl does not guarantee examination results, grades, admissions, scholarships, or career outcomes.

SchoolExl may investigate suspected violations of this Policy and, where reasonably necessary, suspend AI access, restrict features, terminate Accounts, report unlawful conduct to competent authorities, or pursue legal remedies. SchoolExl may amend this Policy to reflect technological, legal, or operational developments; updates take effect upon publication unless stated otherwise.
