Terms of Service

Welcome to SchoolExl, an AI-powered learning platform built to help students learn more effectively through Vision AI, Voice AI, personalized learning, assessments, and related digital educational services.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between SchoolExl ("SchoolExl", "we", "our", "us") and any User who accesses the Platform. By creating an Account, purchasing a Plan, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Payment & Billing Policy, the AI Usage & Acceptable Use Policy, and the Cancellation & Refund Policy. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Platform.

By using SchoolExl, you represent that you either possess legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement, or, if you are below the age of majority, that your Parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf. Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the Platform. SchoolExl may request reasonable proof of age or parental authorization where required.

Users must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an Account, keep that information updated, keep login credentials confidential, and notify SchoolExl immediately of any unauthorized access. Users remain solely responsible for activity conducted through their Account. SchoolExl is not liable for loss arising from a User's failure to protect their own credentials.

Where a Student is under the age of majority, the Parent must complete registration, provide consent for collection and processing of the Student's information, manage subscription payments, and supervise appropriate use of the Platform. Parents may receive learning progress reports, assessment summaries, subscription notifications, and educational recommendations relating to the Student's use of SchoolExl.

SchoolExl provides an AI-powered educational platform that may include personalized learning journeys, Vision AI doubt-solving, Voice AI tutoring, AI Mentor assistance, practice tests, adaptive assessments, progress analytics, learning recommendations, educational videos, interactive learning tools, and future educational technologies. SchoolExl may modify, enhance, discontinue, or replace any feature where reasonably necessary for operational, technical, educational, or commercial reasons.

SchoolExl is a supplementary educational resource. It does not replace classroom teaching, professional tutoring, examination authorities, educational institutions, or certified educational professionals. Users remain responsible for their own academic decisions and examination preparation.

SchoolExl uses artificial intelligence to provide educational assistance. AI-generated responses are produced automatically, may contain inaccuracies, and should be independently verified where appropriate. SchoolExl does not guarantee that every AI-generated answer will be complete, accurate, current, or suitable for every context. Detailed rules governing AI use are set out in Part D, AI Usage & Acceptable Use Policy.

SchoolExl currently offers the following Plans, each providing annual access to all CBSE subjects, the Learning Center, and self-study tools (flashcards, MCQs, true/false), together with the tier-specific features and allowances shown below. Pricing, features, and any promotional discount are displayed on the Platform at the time of purchase and shall prevail over any earlier marketing communication or this Suite.

• EXL: ₹365/year (list price ₹1,000, subject to prevailing promotional pricing). Includes all CBSE subjects, the Learning Center, self-study tools, and 1 counselling session/year. Does not include revision, doubts support, study plan, homework help, exam preparation, AI mentor coaching, coding coach, viva prep, Olympiad prep, the parent dashboard, or the Vision AI Video Tutor. No included Vision AI minutes.
• EXL Scholar: ₹5,000/year (list price ₹10,000, subject to prevailing promotional pricing). Includes everything in the EXL Plan, plus revision, doubts support, study plan, homework help, AI mentor coaching, 4 counselling sessions/year, and the parent dashboard (including insights, messaging, and announcements). Does not include exam preparation, coding coach, viva prep, or Olympiad prep. No included Vision AI minutes; Vision AI Video Tutor is not available on this Plan.
• EXL Topper: ₹15,000/year (list price ₹30,000, subject to prevailing promotional pricing). Includes everything in the EXL Scholar Plan, plus exam preparation, coding coach, viva prep, Olympiad prep, unlimited counselling sessions, and 60 Vision AI Video Tutor minutes/day.

All Plans are annual and licensed for personal, non-commercial educational use only; they may not be shared, transferred, resold, sublicensed, or assigned without SchoolExl's prior written consent. SchoolExl may introduce, modify, discontinue, or replace Plans at its discretion; changes apply prospectively and do not affect Plans already purchased unless expressly stated.

SchoolExl may offer promotional discounts, referral benefits, scholarship programs, or limited-time offers. Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotional offers cannot be combined, are available only during the advertised period, have no cash value, and may be modified or withdrawn by SchoolExl at any time.

SchoolExl Plans do not currently auto-renew. Access continues for the paid annual term and then ends unless the Customer actively renews; no card is charged without an affirmative purchase action.

Payments are governed in full by Part C, Payment & Billing Policy. Unless otherwise stated, all prices displayed on the Platform are inclusive of applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST). Customers are responsible for any additional taxes, duties, or governmental charges applicable in their jurisdiction, and SchoolExl shall issue tax invoices where required by law.

Cancellation and refund requests are governed exclusively by Part E, Cancellation & Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms overrides that Policy.

Users shall use the Platform solely for lawful educational purposes and shall not: impersonate another person or provide false information; share login credentials or use another person's Account; interfere with Platform operations or introduce malicious software; attempt unauthorized access, reverse engineering, or scraping; use bots or automated scripts; exploit vulnerabilities; use the Platform for unauthorized commercial coaching; infringe intellectual property rights; upload unlawful, defamatory, obscene, abusive, or harmful material; or use AI outputs to facilitate cheating or academic dishonesty. AI-specific acceptable-use rules are set out in Part D. Violation of this Section may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of access.

All intellectual property in the Platform, software, algorithms, AI models, educational content, graphics, trademarks, logos, databases, designs, source code, documentation, and branding, is owned by or licensed to SchoolExl. These Terms transfer no ownership to Users. Users receive only a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Services for personal educational use, and may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, license, modify, create derivative works from, commercially exploit, or reverse engineer any part of the Platform without prior written consent.

Users may submit assignments, questions, images, documents, audio, feedback, and suggestions. By doing so, the User grants SchoolExl a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to process such content solely to deliver educational services, improve AI systems, conduct research and analytics (in anonymized or aggregated form where appropriate), provide customer support, and comply with legal obligations. Users represent that they hold all rights necessary to submit such content; SchoolExl is not responsible for User Content submitted by individuals.

The Platform may link to third-party websites, software, payment gateways, cloud providers, or educational resources that SchoolExl neither controls nor endorses; access to them is at the User's own risk. SchoolExl aims to provide reliable, uninterrupted access but cannot guarantee it; temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance, upgrades, internet failures, cybersecurity incidents, technical faults, or force majeure events, and SchoolExl will use commercially reasonable efforts to restore Services promptly.

SchoolExl may suspend or terminate an Account immediately where it reasonably believes these Terms have been violated, fraudulent or unlawful activity has occurred, payment has failed, Platform security is threatened, or continued access may adversely affect other Users or SchoolExl. Termination does not affect rights or obligations that accrued before it.

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. SchoolExl does not warrant that the Platform will always be uninterrupted or error-free, that AI-generated responses will always be accurate or suitable for every context, that learning outcomes or examination results will improve, or that all content will remain available indefinitely. Educational success depends on factors beyond SchoolExl's control, including the Student's effort, attendance, environment, and examination patterns. Nothing on the Platform constitutes legal, medical, financial, or psychological advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, SchoolExl and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, licensors, and partners shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, business, educational opportunity, goodwill, or data. SchoolExl's aggregate liability arising out of the Services shall not exceed the amount the Customer actually paid to SchoolExl in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SchoolExl and its directors, employees, affiliates, licensors, and partners from claims, losses, damages, liabilities, penalties, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, violation of applicable law, infringement of intellectual property rights, misuse of the Platform, unlawful User Content, or fraudulent activity conducted through your Account.

The collection, storage, processing, disclosure, retention, and protection of personal information is governed by Part B, Privacy Policy. By using the Platform, Users consent to processing of personal information as described there. Where required by law, SchoolExl obtains verifiable parental consent before processing a child's personal data.

SchoolExl is not liable for delay, interruption, or failure in performance resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, cyberattacks, internet or telecommunications failures, labour disputes, governmental action, acts of war, civil unrest, or power failures. Affected obligations remain suspended only for the duration of the event.

SchoolExl may introduce new features, discontinue obsolete ones, modify interfaces, revise content, enhance AI models, improve security, and update subscription offerings. Where a material change affects existing Users, SchoolExl will provide reasonable notice through the Platform or by email where required. SchoolExl may also amend these Terms; continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of India, without limiting any non-waivable consumer right available under applicable law. The Parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute amicably through good-faith discussion; if unresolved within thirty (30) days, either Party may pursue remedies before the competent courts located in Bengaluru, Karnataka, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

• Electronic Communications: by using the Platform, Users consent to receive account, billing, legal, and product communications electronically; such communications satisfy any requirement that they be in writing.
• Severability: if any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
• Waiver: SchoolExl's failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that or any other right; a waiver is effective only in writing by an authorised representative.
• Assignment: Users may not assign rights or obligations under these Terms without SchoolExl's prior written consent. SchoolExl may assign its rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets.
• Entire Agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Payment & Billing Policy, AI Usage & Acceptable Use Policy, and Cancellation & Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between SchoolExl and the User and supersede all prior understandings on the same subject.
